Wellington High School’s Hagen Wright – SCCDAT Athlete of the Month

Wellington High School senior Hagen Wright is excited to take the field for his final season of high school football. The starting center and defensive tackle said he and his teammates have worked hard this off-season and are ready to see that hard work pay off. “I love the commitment and drive that the team puts out every day,” said Wright. “It’s special to not only be a part of the student life at Wellington High School, but to also be involved in Crusader athletics.”

Football is not the only sport Wright participates in. This winter he will turn his attention to wrestling then track and field in the spring. Wright is also involved in several organizations including National Honor Society, Students Against Drunk Driving and STUCO. When he’s not on the gridiron or wrestling mat, you can usually find him helping with a local youth football team, fishing or spending time with friends and family. Wright said he has big plans for life after high school. “I plan on studying Criminal Justice then joining the academy to become a Kansas State Trooper,” said Wright.
