Remington High School’s Sam Entz – FCA Athlete

Remington High School’s Sam Entz is a three-sport athlete and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Entz is a wide receiver/tight end for the football team, a forward for the basketball team and participates in three events for the track team: 800-meters, high jump, and the triple jump. He has played football since the seventh grade and first got involved with FCA when last year.

I first got involved this last year when my basketball coach Gavin Weithrich started it at Remington. He asked me if I wanted to join and lead music and I said of course,” said Entz.  Being part of a team and being part of FCA are two things Entz loves about being a student-athlete at Remington High School.

“The thing I love most about my team and teammates is how we are like a family, and everyone is thinking about others before themselves. I also love all the experience we have coming back and how football savvy all the guys are. I trust every one of them to make the right decision every time,” said Entz. “Joining FCA helped me as an athlete by spending more time with my teammates and creating a stronger bond with them.” Entz offers some advice to anyone on the fence about joining the FCA. “I would tell them that they should definitely join because it’s creates a stronger bond with your teammates and other athletes at your school. Most importantly though, you get one morning a week to fellowship with other Christians and worship our God who gave us the ability to participate in all the sports and activities we do. Without him we are nothing so it’s so important to take time worshiping him and spending time doing that.”

Entz is taking agricultural classes at Butler Community College and would like to finish his degree after high school. He plans to go into farming with his father and brothers. In his free time Entz said he enjoys being outdoors and riding his dirt bike.
