Wichita Trinity’s Jackson Witt – Athlete Spotlight Presented By Kansas Turnpike Authority

By Hayden Swope

Wichita Trinity’s Jackson Witt spent a lot of time adjusting to all things new this year. Witt transferred to Trinity from Wichita Southeast, where he was a second team all-league utility player.

Switching schools has only enhanced Witt’s desire to improve his game.

“I try working all year round to continue improving my game,” Witt said. “Hitting has been my biggest challenge. I work with my cousin Corrigan Bartlett to improve my swing.”

Putting the ball in play on offense, while eliminating errors on defense are two areas where Witt is zeroing on improving.

“I always want to minimize strikeouts and stay strong on defense with minimum past balls,” Witt said. “I’d like to see my team qualify for state. Improving my batting average from last year will be a great step.”

While still undecided as to where, Witt hopes to continue playing baseball at the next level after high school, as well as further his education.

“I plan on attending college to play baseball as well as studying Sports Management,” Witt said.
