Nate Harding of Maize was voted as the Wichita Large Schools Preseason Offensive Lineman of the Year. Harding received nearly 30,000 votes, which was 45 percent of the overall vote.
“It means a lot because I have been working so hard this off season and I’m glad it’s paying off,” Harding said.
Harding was a first team all-league and honorable mention all-state offensive lineman last season.
This year, Harding and the Eagles’ offense have scored over 41 points per game.
“We have had a great season so far and are hoping to build off of our mistakes we make and become better each week,” Harding said. “As an individual I’m working hard on being the best teammate I can be and making the people around me better.”
After high school, Harding has plans bigger than football.
I’m hoping to become a nurse anesthetist or anything in the medical field in the future,” Harding said.
