Wichita Heights’ Elijah Mosley – Spangles Athlete of the Month

By Matt Browning

Elijah Mosley of Heights was named the Spangles Athlete of the Month for June. Mosley has the best 400-meter time in the state, while also having the second best 200 and 8000meter times.

“I am not satisfied with anything yet,” Mosley said. “I still have more things to do and better times to run and work on my performance in the 400 before the season is over.”

Mosley has thought for a while that he could be a good sprinter, but did not start taking it seriously until recently.

“I try to train year-round and run as much as I can so I can be one of the fastest in the word one day,” Mosley said. “And in order to do that there can’t be any days off.”

Mosley also participates in football and was an all-league defensive lineman this past season for the Falcons.

“In my opinion that was one of the best seasons I had in my high school football career,” Mosley said.

Next year, Mosley wants to run in college and then begin to establish his professional track and field career.
