Wichita Collegiate’s Ellie Munds – Athlete Spotlight Presented by Wichita Collegiate School

It’s an exciting time to be a student-athlete at Wichita Collegiate High School. For senior Ellie Munds, this is her last season with her teammates, and she wants to make it one to remember. Last year Munds knocked down 56 three-point shots and averaged 9.7 points a game. To say she is excited to return to competition is an understatement.

“I’m most excited that attendance restrictions have been lifted for our games. Most of our games last year lacked the traditional Collegiate energy because it was just our parents there, so I’m hoping we can get a lot of students back out,” said Munds. “Being a student-athlete at Collegiate is special because coaches and students understand that we are students first, then athletes. However, they also understand that we are busy and provide us with the support and resources to be successful in all aspects of our lives.”

The point/shooting guard enjoys being part of this team and the bond they share is part of their winning formula for success.

“Since we have a small group at a small school, we know each other well and I feel like we can be a lot closer than many other teams making it a very special experience,” said Munds.
