GOLFERS to Watch
Jaggar Hawley – Attica
This year Jaggar Hawley is our returning golfer. Look for Hawley to have a solid season in 2021.
Logan Ashford – Goddard
Logan joined the team two years ago and showed great promise as a freshman golfer. Unfortunately, last season was cancelled and prevented Logan from showing his growth from his freshman to sophomore seasons. This year he will lead a group of juniors and sophomores who are returning from last year’s young squad that included only two seniors.
Karson Kuepker – Andale
Karson has been at the course every day the course is open for the last couple of years. He has worked extremely hard to become a very good player. Two years ago, he struggled to break 90. Now he is near or below par most days. He will be our best player this year. Missing the season last year was tough on him. He’s very excited about 2021.
Austin Goodrum – Andover Central
Varsity golfer for four years (would have been in 2020) and a member of the state championship teams in 2018, 2019.
Cooper Ward – Andover Central
Varsity golfer for three years (would have been in 2020) and a member of the state championship team in 2019.
Jacob George – Winfield
Jacob is a great kid. He has worked extremely hard for the past several seasons. He was league champion his sophomore year and also placed 13th at state that year. We expect big things for Jacob this year.
Trent Sutherland – Arkansas City
Trent is a senior this year. He missed last year due to COVID-19, like everyone else. As a freshman he shot a 76 at 4A State at Emporia, which placed him in a tie for 16th. His freshman year he medaled in seven of the eight regular season tourneys of which two he placed 2nd overall and one he placed 3rd overall. As a sophomore he medaled in six of the seven regular season tourneys. He won the Derby Invitational and had two 3rd place finishes. He did miss going to 5A State his sophomore year by one stroke. Trent has been a relentless when it comes to practicing golf. I am expecting a great season from Trent.
Kyle Kasitz – Maize South
Kyle is a junior who is following two older brothers at MSHS who both went on to play college golf. Kyle’s teammates appreciate him because he sets a great example for practice, motivation, and consistent play. Ball striking and tee-to-green are Kyle’s strengths, but he would like to improve on his short-game and putting.
Connor Langlais – Hutchinson Central Christian
Connor has been on the varsity team since his freshman year and has qualified for the state tournament every year. He brings tournament experience as well as being a great player for our team. He likes to practice and is always willing to help a less experienced golfer learn the game.

Tennis Players to Watch
Logan Dean – Valley Center
Logan came to Valley Center as a sophomore from Salina Central, and would have been part of one of the varsity doubles teams last year. But as you know, no season. He has worked very hard to maintain his game, and I’m sure he will be at the top of our ladder this year.
Jaden Tredway – Maize
Senior Jaden Tredway has signed at Emporia State University and has over 50 varsity wins. In 2018 he was 10th at state in singles, and in 2019 was Regional Runner-up 6th at state in singles.
Garrison Wright – Maize
Senior Garrison Wright has signed at Kansas Wesleyan University and has over 50 varsity wins as well. In 2018 he was singles state qualifier, and in 2019 was Regional Runner-up 6th at state in doubles
Luke Swan – Collegiate
Luke was state doubles champ as a sophomore.
Kade Adams – Wellington
Solid player, both sisters were state qualifiers and his brother was also. Comes from a tennis family loaded with talent. Mom is assistant girl’s tennis coach. Competitive kid doesn’t like to lose.
Jonah Schloneger – Newton
Jonah is our number one player, qualified for state in singles last season. Is always out working to improve and helps lead our team.
Jack Enegren – Goddard
Played varsity singles as a freshman.

He is steady. Scott is an encourager to other players no matter their skill level.
