Girls Soccer Players to Watch
Makenzie Orr – Kapaun Mt. Carmel
Makenzie is a junior midfielder who was a varsity starter and All-State selection two years ago as a freshman. She also played for the FC Wichita women’s professional team following her freshmen season and started one game despite only being 15 years old. She is our most talented returning player and will be a key part of our attack this season.
Lauren Vestring – Northwest
This girl is hands down one of if not the best defenders in the area. She is physically strong and very difficult to beat 1-on-1, she can pick a pass out of the back and is a great leader for us and will be one of very few seniors on our roster this upcoming season.
Ilex Hagan – North
Ilex is the engine in our midfield. She will control the tempo, create opportunities for her teammates, and look for goal herself. She is an 80-minute player that will cover box-to-box. Her creativity, work ethic, and technical ability on the ball will be on full display this season!
Alexis Hutton – Buhler
Alexis Hutton is a senior that has committed to play at Fort Hays State University. She was All-State freshman and sophomore season. She had 43 goals and 20 assists combined in her freshman/sophomore seasons, while playing CB for five of those games.
Taylor Bockover – Bishop Carroll
Taylor is a game changer in that she can run with most any opponent’s attackers, she has amazing vision and a motor that doesn’t quit. Her presence has allowed us to change our formation and attacking philosophy.
Madi Loyle – Andover
The first thing that sticks out is her attitude. She loves soccer and her teammates. Madi has been the player I have leaned on to help lead this team. She can play multiple positions, but I expect her to play the six.
Yossi Villagrana – East
Yossi is a senior who is planning to play at the college level next season. She is a crafty midfielder who has a fantastic touch, solid decision-making ability, and plays with a child-like love for the game that energizes and motivates her teammates.
Paige Henry – Collegiate
Paige is the epitome of a selfless leader. She leads by example. She simply shows up early, and leaves late, she supports her teammates and genuinely wants to see all players thrive individually and as a team. She is a true student-athlete who honors her commitment to academics as well as athletics. She is committed to play at Bethany College next fall.
Mia Long – Maize South
Mia Long is an outstanding student-athlete that cares about her teammates. She is a senior and wants to lead our team in the best possible way during our soccer season. She is an excellent athlete and a very smart student. She is a solid central defender with excellent foot skills and great vision during games and practices.
Gabby Chavez – Campus
Gabby is a senior this year. She has previously been recognized as an All-AVCTL forward and will be a leader in our program this year. Gabby is a hard worker that may very likely fulfill more than just an attacking role for us this season. She has played a ton of club soccer this offseason to put her in a great position to come out and do great things for her school this year.
