Wellington High School sophomore Jensen Lynes is a member of the varsity tennis team and active in SCCDAT (Sumner County Community Drug Action Team). The SCCDAT is a council made up of high school students from seven different high schools in Sumner County. This is the first year for Lynes to be involved in the program.
“I’ve enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends. Most importantly, having the opportunity to have a positive influence on the youth in the community,” said Lynes.
“I love that this group gives me a chance to share my ideas with others and make a difference in the community.”
Lynes is also involved in National Honor Society, SADD, Leadership, Business Professionals of America, the Crusader band and she is acting Vice President of the sophomore class. Getting back on the tennis court is something Lynes and her teammates are excited for this season. But she’s also going to spend some time in the water.
“I play tennis and am very excited to have the opportunity to swim as a co-op with Winfield High School this spring, as Wellington does not have a swim team,” said Lynes.
Her future plans include attending college with the ultimate goal of being accepted into medical school.
