Wellington’s Airalyn Frame – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Visit Wichita

Airalyn Frame of Wellington was voted the Wichita Large School Preseason Girls Basketball Player of the Year by VYPE fans online. “It was actually a big shock that I received so many votes,” Frame said. “I have a huge support system here in Wellington, and I’m thankful to so many people who took the time to vote for me.”

Last season, Frame was a second team all-league selection, as well as being honorable mention All-State. She averaged 11 points and six rebounds per game.

The Crusaders made it to the sub-state finals and this season they have several freshmen entering the program. Frame wants to set the tone for these young players from day one. “I would like to work on my character, we have a solid group of freshmen coming up this year and I want to set a good example of what WHS basketball represents,” Frame said. “It’s more than a group of girls, it’s a family.”

Frame is also involved in NHS, FCA, SADD and Pep Club at Wellington. She also plays volleyball, wrestling and will be running track this year. Frame is not certain what sport she wants to play in college, but she does want to pursue a degree in physical therapy.
