Wellington Basketball Team Preview – Presented by SCCDAT

GIRLS

Coach: Eric Adams

20-21 Record: 11-8

The Wellington girls return several key players this season including Ali Zeka (5-10, Sr.), Airalyn Frame (5-10, Sr.), Shiney Hughes (5-10, Jr.), Ashlyn Gerten (5-6, Jr.), Maddie Nance (5-10, Jr.) and Kami Reichenberger (5-6, Jr.). Last season Zeka averaged 12 points a game while Frame accounted for 11 points. Brit Zeka is an underclassman to watch this season, taking the court with her older sister. Keep an eye on the defensive play of Reichenberger. She does all the little things to help this team succeed.

BOYS

Coach: Joe Newman

20-21 Record: 6-13

A wealth of experience is what head coach Joe Newman has coming back this season. Banks Hinshaw (6-2, Jr.), Jack Wright (6-2, Jr.), RJ Clift (6-1, Sr.), Malachi Rogers (5-11, Jr.) and Montel Tate (6-3, Jr.) are all capable of having big nights. Hinshaw averaged over 11 points per game last season. Others to watch include Cope Henry (5-11, Jr.), Deitrek Gill (6-0, Sr.), Logan Swingle (6-0, Sr.), Korbin Jones (6-0, Sr.), Rylan Biles (5-7, Sr.) and Keaton Hartman (5-11, Jr.).
