Harvey Zimmerman of Trinity Academy was voted the Wichita Small School Preseason Quarterback of the Year. Last season, Zimmerman racked up over a combined 1,800 yards and 12 touchdowns threw the air and on the ground.
“As a quarterback I find my strengths on the move escaping pocket pressure,” Zimmerman said. “However, my weakness comes in knowing when to roll out and when to stay in and move up. I think with a stronger receiving core and new offense, we will be able to utilize hands and speed when the fall rolls around.”
The Knights have struggled in recent memory, going a combined 4-32 over the past four seasons. But there is plenty of excitement around the program this fall.
“This season, expectations for Trinity football are higher than they have been in the past,” Zimmerman said. “Under a new, experienced coaching staff and a talented incoming class, with key players returning, it’s looking up.”
Zimmerman said the feelings of losing last season has been the primary motivator for offseason workouts and he has been pleased with what he has seen.
“The group of guys we have this year might be the most dedicated I have ever seen because as a whole we do not ever want to feel those same feelings from last year again,” Zimmerman said.
