Emily Green of Stafford was chosen as the Driving Change feature for the June. Green is involved in volleyball, basketball, track, scholars bowl, SAFE, NHS, pep band, JAG, theatre, forensics, yearbook and is the FCCLA and student council president at Stafford.
“I like to be active in clubs and activities at Stafford because it allows me to get to know a variety of different people,” Green said. “I also really enjoy competing and knowing every day I can do better than the last. A lot of the clubs and activities I participate in also teach me many new people and life skills. This motivates me to continue to participate in them and to also bring in as many people I can to participate in them as well.”
Green takes pride in being viewed as a leader at Stafford because she is able to provide an example to the younger students.
“I do encourage everyone to try and get involved in school activities, especially since we have so few students,” Green said. “I also like to make sure everyone is comfortable and feels included in activities, which can be hard starting out. I try to make them welcomed, which usually makes more students want to be involved as well.”
Next year, Green is going to Bethany to play basketball. She plans to major in Health and Physical Education, in hopes of being a teacher and coach in the future.
