South Haven’s Alivia Bacon – SCCDAT Athlete of the Month

By Matt Browning

Alivia Bacon from South Haven was chosen as the SCCDAT Athlete of the Month. Bacon, who plays basketball, is a cheerleader and runs cross country and track, has embraced SCCDAT for its leadership opportunities.

“SCCDAT has shown me leadership role in my school and community that I didn’t even realize were there,” Bacon said. “I have learned how to be a better person and how to make my community and school a better place to live through SCCDAT, by being there for my peers at times I may not even know they need me.”

Bacon found out about SCCDAT from her peers and thought it would be a great fit because of what she could do for her school.

“I was very impressed with the role that SCCDAT plays in our community and among our teens,” Bacon said. “So, I applied and was very excited to be given the honor to be involved with SCCDAT.”

Bacon also participates in FFA, 4-H, FCCLA, as well as many other clubs.

While she is only a freshman, Bacon already knows she wants to be an athletic trainer for her career.
