Brandon Bonta of Northwest was chosen as the JOMA Bowler of the Month for March. Bonta is one of the top bowlers in the state this season.
“It means a lot to be chosen for the Bowler of the Month for March,” Bonta said. “Knowing that there are a lot of good high school bowlers in the area I am honored to be chosen.”
Last season, Bonta rolled a 763 at the 5-1A tournament, which was good for second place. He finished three pins behind first.
Already this season, Bonta is feeling good about where his game is.
“I am feeling really confident about my game right now,” Bonta “I am throwing the ball really well.”
“I bowled really well at state last year finishing second, all I need to do is stay patient and throw the best shots I can.”
One of the main goals for Bonta this season is to lead the Grizzlies to the state tournament, which is something they did not do last season.
“I would like our team to be at state this year, last year we did not make it out of regionals so this year we are going to change that,” Bonta said. “It is never fun going to state without your teammates.”
Bonta plans on attending Wichita State next season and majoring in sports management.
