A 13-year soccer player, Liz Orme has decided to take her talents to MidAmerica Nazarene next year. The Kapaun Mt. Carmel junior is one of the top players in the area and is excited to start a new chapter in college, but before she closes the book on a great high school career, Orme is looking forward to finishing this season strong and competing as a senior.
“It has been a great season so far. Going into this season there were a lot of unknowns with losing nine starting seniors, and many of us never playing together. For me it was a big change coming into this season. The last time I stepped onto the field was as a freshman and now as an upperclassman I had to realize my new role. One thing I think we all learned from the season being canceled last year was to never take anything for granted,” said Orme. “One thing I love about my team is how committed everyone is. We have weights and speed training twice a week before school, and everyone is there ready to work at six AM.”
During her career, Orme said she has made some great memories.
“Favorite memory was betting Bishop Carroll my freshman year. We all got pizookies after the game as a team to celebrate,” said Orme.
The junior also plays varsity tennis and has played soccer for Kansas Rush Wichita for 13-years.
The center-midfielder plans to major in Elementary Education at MidAmerica Nazarene where she will continue her soccer career.
