Wrestling is known as one of, if not the toughest sport to compete in. Kapaun Mount Carmel High School’s Bubba Wright is as tough as they come. Wright is a junior this year and is one of the KMC hopefuls to take home another state championship.
Wright got his start in wrestling at a very young age. Since that time, Wright has recorded many wins and plenty of tournament titles.
“I started wrestling when I was five years old,” said Wright. “I am currently a junior in high school and I am wrestling at 120-pounds.”
His expectations for himself are always high. Finishing at the top of the podium is always the goal. Through all of the tournaments and duals, Wright has made plenty of great memories with his teammates at Kapaun.
“My expectations are to win state,” said Wright. “I like that my team and teammates are so close. My freshman year we lost in a dual against Bishop Carroll, so we had to win the City League Tournament to tie as City League champs and we ended up destroying them as a team in the City League Tournament, so we won.”
Wright has a goal in mind, which is to wrestle at the collegiate level. If his past history of meeting his goals is any indication, you should expect to see Wright competing at the next level upon graduating from Kapaun Mount Carmel.
