Kapaun hires new softball coach

Per a press release, Kapaun Mount Carmel announced it has hired Kelsey Stewart as its new softball coach.

Stewart is an Olympic Silver Medalist, a two-time National Champion, two-time World Champion and 2015 SEC Player of the Year. She is currently a member of the USA Softball team and is a substitute teacher for the Maize School District.

“We are delighted that Kelsey, with her amazing experience and accomplishments, has agreed to join Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School,” said KMC Athletic Director, Marty Straub.

Stewart is a professional athlete with Athletes Unlimited, where she also assists with athletic management
tasks and community service efforts. She is a sponsored athlete for Wilson Sporting Goods, where she has mentored student athletes and has participated in conventions around the world.

“We could not be more excited about this hire,” said Chris Bloomer, KMC Principal. “Coach Stewart’s success and experience as a professional athlete will raise the bar for our softball program and provide a positive role model for our student athletes.”
