Halstead’s Cole Herman – Wichita Small School OL Poll Winner Presented by US Marines

Cole Herman of Halstead was voted as the Wichita Small School Preseason Offensive and Defensive Lineman of the Year. In the offensive lineman poll, Herman received over 13,000 votes, which was 44 percent of the overall vote. In the defensive lineman poll, Herman received over 7,000 votes, which was 53 percent of the overall vote.

“It is an honor to have been selected for this recognition,” Herman said.

Last season, Herman was a first team all-league defensive lineman and a second team all-league offensive lineman.

Through five games this year, Herman has 18 tackles and one sack.

“As a team it (our season) hasn’t gone as expected so far,” Herman said. “We have faced some really good opponents. Our goal is to just keep getting better week by week.”

Herman is not sure if football is in his future after high school, but he would like to pursue a degree in physical therapy.
