Grant Ramsey was chosen as the Wichita Collegiate Athlete of the Month for June. Ramsey played basketball and tennis for the Spartans.
“Wichita Collegiate School has had a huge impact on me,” Ramsey said. “It has prepared me to excel in college and in a future career by learning time management, leadership skills, and a tough work ethic.”
Ramsey added that Collegiate will make the transition to college a more seamless one because of the rigorous academic standards.
“It’s an academically prestigious school with great athletics and community,” Ramsey said. “It will prepare you for college through AP and all honors courses.”
To go along with the challenging academics, Ramsey also likes the close-knit atmosphere Collegiate offers.
“The sense of family that you get from Collegiate is something special,” Ramsey said. “Because it is a relatively small school, everyone knows everyone so we are always supporting one another whether that be a drive for a community fundraiser, sporting event, or recent accomplishment.”
Ramsey has many accolades from his time playing sports at Collegiate. He was a part of the Spartans 2019 state tennis championship team and the 2018 second place team. He also took 10th in singles in 2019 and 13thin doubles in 2018.
Next year, Ramsey is going to attend Auburn University and be in the Professional Flight program and wants to eventually be a corporate or commercial airline pilot.
