A junior at Eisenhower High School, Alexis Mastin is the starting catcher for the high school varsity softball team. Before the season started, Mastin and her teammates were excited to have the opportunity to play a full season.
“We are all very excited to be able to have a season this year. When Covid hit last year, it was devastating for everyone because we put in all the preseason work but weren’t able to actually play,” said Mastin. “What I love most about my team is that we can laugh and have fun but when it’s time to get serious we can focus up and get a job done.”
The catcher started playing softball at the age of nine and she claims it was the best decision she ever made.
“The thing I love the most about softball is how competitive it is. I have always been a very competitive kid so when I was told I could play competitive travel softball I knew that’s what I wanted to do. I have met a lot of my lifelong friends through softball as well and I will forever be grateful for them,” said Mastin.
Her future plans include going to college where she will work towards a degree and play more softball.
“This summer I will be traveling with my summer ball team, Tulsa Elite 316, and playing in some big tournaments in Oklahoma and Kansas City,” said Mastin.
