Circle’s Conner Chadwell – “Driving Change” Athlete Spotlight Presented By KTA

Circle’s Conner Chadwell is one of the players who can get wherever he wants on the court, and because of that, he has developed himself into a very potent scorer.

Starting in Kindergarten, Chadwell’s parents have always supported his deep love for the game every step of the way. The senior is a very versatile player for the Thunderbirds.

“I’m a shooting guard who shoots the ball at a very high level and can score on all levels,” Chadwell said. “At the same time, I love passing the ball as I’m leading my team in assists. I also take pride in my defense as I always take on the challenge of guarding the other team’s best player.”

Not only is Chadwell a pivotal part of their offensive and defensive schemes, but he is also very instrumental when it comes to leading his team.

“I think I bring a lot of energy and leadership to the team,” Chadwell said. “To be a leader, you have to lead with your actions, and I think I’ve shown my team how hard you have to work, sometimes after practice for multiple hours working on my craft.”

After a 68-52 win over Mulvane, bringing them the Chaparral Roadrunner Classic championship, the Thunderbirds know that this is only step one on their list of plans this season.

“To win a state championship, I have to go into every practice with that mindset I have always been told to go the hardest in practice, so the game comes easy,” Chadwell said. “I also have to keep leading my team and stacking the wins and trust everything Coach Crawford and the rest of the coaching staff has in store for the team. Coach has taken the culture and the team to a level it’s never been before, and he’s a testament to the success of this team.”
