Campus’ Toby House – Athlete Spotlight Presented By Shelter Insurance, Rachel Janes

By Hayden Swope

Campus’ Toby House has been playing in the world of hockey for 12 years now. Just one game at a young age changed his life forever, and House knew hockey was the sport for him.

“It all started when my dad took me to a Wichita Thunder game when I was just four years old,” House said. “That’s when I fell in love with the sport of hockey. I play for my teammates, coaches, and my parents because it’s a really fast and physical sport.”

14 games in and 20 points later, House is making a name for himself on the team and in the state as tough games become priceless wins.

“Most memorable part of this season is my team beating the third ranked team in Texas, the  McKinney North Stars,” House said

After getting some hardware the past two seasons, House plans to do it all again this year.

“The goal for this season is another championship,” House said. “We won two straight league championships.”

House has hopes to continue playing the game he loves at the next level after high school.

“I hope after this year to continue my hockey career by playing here in Wichita or somewhere else then continue on to college hockey,” House said.
