Campus’ Alec Hinojos – Athlete Spotlight Presented by USD 261 Haysville Schools

By Matt Browning

Alec Hinojos was chosen as the Campus Athlete of the Month for June. Hinojos played soccer, football and tennis for the Colts.

“The impact the Campus School District has had on me is tremendous,” Hinojos said. “I have made many friends throughout my time here and I have created a lot of great relationships with teachers. The teachers have had a lot to do with my success and genuinely care about my future. I have also loved the fact that I can take a wide variety of classes throughout different subjects.”

Hinojos also said Campus being able to provide a wide array of courses and how inclusive it is makes it a destination school for prospective students.

“It’s a safe school and is very inclusive,” Hinojos said. “A lot of the teachers are very involved with the students and their success. There are a wide variety of subjects to choose from to help students figure what their future career interests might be. All of the sports coaches are very supportive both academically and athletically and want to push the athletes to be the best they can be.”

Outside of athletics, Hinojos was also involved in Student Council, Business Professionals of America and Stompin’ Grounds, which is the school’s coffee shop.

Next year, Hinojos is going to attend Friends University, where he will play soccer and tennis. He plans on studying Health Sciences.
