Allie Ebenkamp was a standout softball player at Augusta High School.
Ebenkamp, who hit over .500 and was one of the leaders in home runs, was a first team all-state and first team all-league first basemen for the Orioles last season, who won the 4A Tournament.
Ebenkamp actually made a diving play to tag first base, which won the state game for the Orioles. It is the accompanying photo.
She was expected to be one of the top players in the area this season.
Not only was Ebenkamp a softball player, but she also played tennis and participated in FCCLA and band.
Next year, Ebenkamp plans to go to Butler Community College and major in nursing and become an EMT.
