Brooke Walker is a three-sport athlete at Andover High School and point guard for the basketball team. Walker is excited for the start of basketball season. “I am most excited about the team improving on our win-loss record and enjoying team dinners,” said Walker.
Walker said her teammates are committed to making this a season they will remember. “I value the friendships of my teammates and I love that our team is committed to building on last year’s season,” said Walker.
Last season Walker averaged 12 points a game with 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 3.3 steals. Head coach Seth Anderson said Walker is a “threat on the offensive end, but also has great instincts on defense.”
For Walker, playing basketball, tennis and soccer allows her to represent her school while giving her more than just the ability to compete. “Being a student-athlete has given me an identity and it provides me an opportunity to compete for my school,” said Walker.
Only a sophomore, Walker could develop into a player who takes her talents to the next level. Coach Anderson believes she has that capability. For Walker, focusing on this season is the priority, but knowing where you’re headed in life is important as well.“After I graduate, I am hoping to continue playing basketball somewhere at a high level. I am still not sure what I want to study yet,” said Walker.
