Ashton Ngo from Andover was voted as the Wichita Large Schools Preseason Linebacker of the Year. Ngo received over 17,000 votes which was 41 percent of the vote.
Ngo was a second team all-league linebacker last season for the Trojans.
“It’s an honor to be voted for this award,” Ngo said. “There are a lot of good linebackers in the area with tons of talent.”
While Ngo is one of the leaders of Andover’s defense, he feels like it has been a group effort to the season, where the Trojans have already won more games than they did a year ago.
“Our coaches come in with a great game plan every week and the players come into film on Sunday’s ready to learn,” Ngo said. “I’m just one piece to a great defense. Individually I am trying to work on getting a better feel for the other teams offense.”
Ngo plans to be a chiropractor after college.
