Rose Hill’s Koby Campbell – Basketball Player of the Month Presented by Visit Wichita

Rose Hill senior Koby Campbell recently won an online poll for the Large School Basketball Player of the Month. The combo guard was humbled to learn so many people voted for him.

“It really does mean a lot. All of my friends and family were super excited to see that I was apart of the poll and they were all determined to help me win. They were sharing it on social media and voting for me multiple times a day so that’s really cool to see them support me that much. I think it’s really cool to win this so also I can help bring attention to a lot of other great athletes at Rose Hill,” said Campbell.

Campbell loves his school and loves playing with this group of teammates.

“What I love most about our team this year is how happy we are to see each other succeed. If you watch us a play and someone makes a three or dives on a loose ball, everyone is excited for that person and the play they made no matter what. I think that’s something that really helps us gel so much is that everyone wants everyone else to succeed and play their best, because we know ultimately that’s helping our team win. As long as we’re winning games we’re all happy,” said Campbell.

The support Campbell and his teammates receive from the student body at Rose Hill is part of what makes it such a great school.

“I love how much my peers and school support our teams. We have great student section showings not only at home games but to a lot of away games too. And that’s something not all schools have. Our teachers also support us a ton and you can see a lot of them at our games. Ultimately the community and school genuinely care about our athletics and when you have those people’s support it makes the game so much more fun and it truly does in my opinion make you play better. Rose Hill is a special place,” said Campbell.

His future plans include going to college and playing either football or basketball and he wants to major in Broadcast Media.
