Wichita Southeast’s JaKhia Jones – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Pretty Girls Pound the Rock

Wichita Southeast Basketball player Jakhia Jones recently shared her future goals with VYPE. They are “to grow in God, work on myself; while God is working on me. Clear my acne, of course, work to become a better role model to my siblings, and continue to look up to the First Lady of my church Vanessa Tyson.”

While it sounds like Jones will have her hands full she did have the time to recall her favorite athletic memory for us. Saying “My favorite athletic memory has to be when I was a lot younger and I was unstoppable. No one could guard me and we both knew that.”

Off the court, Jones is very involved at Southeast High. Telling VYPE “I’m involved in NHS, NAHS, AVID, STUCCO, and freshman mentoring.” And although Jones told us that she wants to become a better role model, it sounds like she is already a pretty good one.
