Run 2 Believe 2021 Honors Former Maize High School Students

The Run 2 Believe 5,000-meter race was held again this year on May 8, with 225 participants running in memory of former Maize High School students Kyle Thornburg and Kylie Jobe.

A drunk driver tragically killed Thornburg and Jobe, who were high school sweethearts, in 2011 on Interstate 70 while returning home from a trip.

The event started as a small community event, with no expectation of it growing into what it has become now, which is a highly participated race.

“Weather was awesome and everyone enjoyed the new course,” said Robin Thornburg, who is the mother of Kyle. “We have young to old, couples running together, runners that have participated since day one and the MHS Women’s Soccer team.”
