Senior Gavin Worrell of Bluestem is feeling confident about the upcoming season, and with Bluestem’s growing numbers, the defensive line poll winner is ready to take on the field again.
“I’m feeling pretty confident about this season,” Worrell said. “Our summer weights attendance this summer was higher than it has been since I’ve been a part of the program.”
Besides working with his team on and off the field, Worrell has been busy focusing on the leadership role for his senior year as well.
“I have been hitting the weight room pretty hard this summer, also standing up and being a leader for my teammates,” Worrell said.
Given this is his senior season, Worrell looked back on the year before, and found the one lesson he will take with him into this season.
“We had a rough season last year,” Worrell said. “One thing I took away from last year was never giving up. Even when things are rough and not going the way you expected, still give 100 percent until the end.”
Worrell has big plans for after graduation, and hopes to continue his academic career in college.
“I plan on attending college to pursue a career as a physical therapist,” Worrell said.
