Salina Central’s Chris O’Connor – The Alley Bowler of the Month

Salina Central junior Chris O’Connor has spent the last two years on the bowling team and his plan is to become a four-year member of the team.

“I have been on the Salina Central team for two years now and am planning on going out for it this year and the next,” said O’Connor. “I enjoy the team atmosphere and how the team reacts when another teammate is not doing as well as they normally do. The teammates that are on the team are always trying their best to have fun and we always joke around with each other to make sure that we all are having fun.”

Also a member of the varsity golf team, O’Connor is proud to represent Mustang Nation in competition. He said it was his father who encouraged him to start bowling.

“A lot of people helped me get started but the one who started me off was my father at the age of 14, I have also taken multiple private lessons from Wesley Low and multiple other coaches within my bowling career,” said O’Connor.

When his high school days come to an end, O’Connor plans to continue his education in college.
“I am going to college for criminal investigation and would like to participate as a bowler on a college team,” said O’Connor.

Away from sports and school, O’Connor enjoys spending time with family and friends, but he also likes to find time for himself to play video games, hang out with his dog and practice the sports he enjoys playing.
