JOMA Bowler of the Month: Nicki Culp
Nicki Culp is entering her senior year at Wichita South High School, and she is a member of the varsity bowling team. Culp started bowling thanks to her father’s influence her freshman year and she has loved every minute of it.
“What I enjoy most about my team is the spirit and energy to do better every practice and meet. What I enjoy most about my teammates is how close we can get even if we do not talk or know each other outside of the team. We are always laughing and talking, it makes the sport so much more enjoyable,” said Culp.
A busy senior, Culp is involved in other activities including cheerleading and playing for the softball team. “Some organizations I am in are orchestra, the Thespian Society, JROTC, MCLA (Multicultural Leadership Association), and the National Honors Society,” said Culp. Once she has added graduate to her name, Culp plans on enlisting into the U.S. Navy and will serve on active duty upon completing her basic training.
When she finds time to relax, Culp said she enjoys family and spending time with friends. “When I do have time to enjoy myself, I love hanging out with my friends while I can and try to spend time with family before I leave for the Navy. I love being social, it’s the cheerleader in me. I will also continue my education by going to college while I am at sea,” said Culp.
