Kenny Fehrman of Wellington was voted as the Wichita Large Schools Preseason Defensive Lineman Player of the Year. Fehrman received over 23,000 votes, which was 44 percent of the overall vote.
Fehrman was a second team all-league defensive lineman last season. “I’m very honored to have been voted for this award,” Fehrman said. “It means a lot to me that people recognize my talent and enjoy watching me play the game I love.”
This season, Fehrman has had to overcome injury (he missed two games) but he is back now and hoping to help the Crusaders make a strong push towards the playoffs. “I was out two games due to injury so it felt great to be back,” Fehrman said. “My team as a whole is struggling a bit but I think things will click when it matters most.”
At this time Fehrman hopes to get into either athletic trainer or personal training as a career.
